This pen has been used with care; it comes with its wooden presentation box and original documents. It is equipped with a medium (M) 18-karat gold nib and features a piston filling system. The pen body shows some marks and scratches, and the cap trim has traces of pitting. A writing sample is included (see the last image).
In 1895, the famous Italian scientist Guglielmo Marconi made history by discovering radio waves. One hundred years later, in 1995, with the permission of the Marconi Foundation, OMAS launched the "Guglielmo Marconi 100 Anni di Radio" collection to celebrate this discovery.
Made of dark blue vegetable resin, this version was created in 1995 to commemorate the centenary of radio technology. The cap and pen body are adorned with graduated grooves evoking radio frequency signals. The clip is inspired by a telephone handset, while the nib features the official logo of the Marconi Foundation.
Considered the father of radio—a recognition shared by the famous Russian scientist Alexander Stepanovich Popov—Marconi conducted important experiments from a ship following the Anglo-Russian treaty of 1902. After conducting the first tests with a magnetic detector on board, Marconi had the honor of meeting the Tsar of Russia.
On September 9, 1902, aboard the ship *Carlo Alberto*, Marconi received the first official radio transmission in history, covering a distance of 1,540 kilometers between the American and European continents. It is precisely this event that OMAS honors through this rare and exceptional limited edition dedicated to Marconi.
